Does Home do restore, remote desktop, etc? I have Pro on two machines. Thinking of getting a Dell Laptop with Home on it. Thanks for any help. (Missed lastnight chat.)

Golfmore, before you by a Dell Laptop, you may want to check my summary of last night's chat, the brief critiques of different laptops
http://www.kickenhardware.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3210
and especially Doug's comment about Dell Laptops:
- Not Dell? From Doug: Dude, your Dell just exploded...http://www.kickenhardware.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3053&highlight=exploded
Sorry you missed our chatroom last night. Hope you can make it there next week.

Thanks for that info on the laptops. May look at HP or Compaq as a result. Cost is a factor.

IF you are not requiring advance security and access to a domain controller XP Home should be fine for you.
Both of those features are disabled in Home.

Sorry this is a little late, but XP Home does have Remote Assistance, (it can only be controlled by another PC); XP Home cannot cantrol another PC via Remote Desktop like XP Pro.
