Linksys router Q

What is the "BoostXXX" thing advertised in the Linksys routers.
Also, is it best to set up a VPN on a home network? Just learning. Mine is wired all the way. I can get into my neighbors with my wireless laptop. (I told him I would secure his network for $25.)

Do you intend to access this machine remotely? That's when VPN comes into play. I would rather use LogMeIn,com = very nice product. I'm demo'ing it to a user group tonight.
