I'm at a friends place today and helping him with his computer. This is a Windows 2000 machine.

I noticed that when you go to START / DOCUMENTS - you get a list of the Most Recently Used documents and then a folder at the top that says MY DOCUMENTS which takes you to the actual Documents folder. Where is the setting that controls the number of MRU items?

Properties not available - only Open, Explore, Search. Remember this is a W2K machine.

There is no inherent setting in Windows to change that list. It would have to be changed in the registry.

I spent a few minutes searching the reg, but didn't find anything of relevance as I searched for "recentdocuments" and not "recentdocs".

So I went online and found this:

BM, Seth - thanks for those links. I'll have to pull out my W2K machine and try these fixes before messing with my friend's machine.
