I not one to read HJT logs but I'm suspicious of entries that aren't labeled such as this one:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
Since this is repeatable I'd like you to try booting in Safe Mode with Networking and see how it reacts. If there are no problems, then it's something in the startup & services causing the problem.
To start in Safe Mode with Networking, tap the F8 key while booting. You'll get a menu where you can make the choice.

When i start in that mode the whole screen fills with lines that say:::
Multidisk/partition2/windows/system32/drivers followed by different words after it going down the whole screen...Then it asked which account i wanted to log on with and i chose Administrator then it went into the desk top screen in safe mode and there it is sitting...
How bad is it and what do i do?
Dee,
Setting aside this latest problem for the moment, a review of the log shows you still have parts of Zonealarm running in the background, which is probably causing your webcam problem as well as your browser problem.
I suggest you reinstall ZA, then follow the instructions I posted to uninstall it.
Then post back with the results.

1) You said that it worked when you normally start the computer, but stops working after about 5 minutes. Is that correct?
2) Make sure you choose Safe Mode with Networking. IE won't work in plain old Safe Mode.
3) That happens when you double click on Internet Explorer?

yes

I used safe mode networking like i was directed to...sorry my mistake for not properly stating that...
3) That happens when you double click on Internet Explorer?
I do not understand the last question...:frown:
***Note to Rob***
when i went to download and install Zone Alarm i got a popup stating exactly this after the download but before the installation:::
Setup is unable to log into True Vector Service...Install can not continue without logging into True Vector Service...Please use the service manager to shut down the True Vector Service and then restart the installer program...
I have never encountered this problem on either of the 2 times i had installed ZA on my PC previously and i have no idea what it means...I have a doctors appointment i must go to but will pick this right back up upon my return...Thank you very much for your help thus far...

Dee,
Click Start, click Run, in the run textbox type ---> msconfig
in the Sytem Config Utility window that opens, click the Startup Tab,
if their are any items related to Zonealarm / True Vector in the list, UNCHECK them.
click apply, click ok.
You will be prompted to reboot, click yes.
Once your back at the desktop, try reinstalling ZoneAlarm.

Dee,
After you uncheck it, you need to reboot, then follow the procedure for removing ZA that I posted. As we discussed during last nights Paltalk chat, you may need to reinstall ZA first, then uninstall following the procedure I outlined.

Zone Alarm also runs a Service that you may have to shutdown.
Click Start, click Run, in the run textbox type ---> msconfig
in the Sytem Config Utility window that opens, click the Services tab.
Uncheck True Vector Internet Monitor
click apply, click ok.
You will be prompted to reboot, click yes.

You can download JV16 Power Tools 30 trial. There is a utility in there to remove programs. That WILL remove Zone Alarm. However, there may be something else at play here.
Be careful about using the other utilities. Unless you know what you're doing, you may mess up something, Stick with the Remove programs utility.

Thank you kelly i do believe that i agree...If a moderator or such can close this thread or merge it with my other one about webcams i believe that this would be easier...I now have internet explorer working but it's due to what Rob (Kern) had suggested and directed me to do in my webcam thread...so far i have had internet explorer open for a couple of hours and am just waiting on further direction from Rob on deleting certain files mentioned in my other thread...Thank you to whoever can fix these 2 threads...:)

I'm glad that your Internet Explorer is close to being resolved. As soon as the loose ends with this problem are cleaned up, I will mark the thread as SOLVED. I would prefer not to merge to two threads because they appear to be separate problems and the two simultaneous discussions would be very difficult to follow in a single thread (when two threads are merged, all posts are presented in chronological order regardless of their origin).
