A word of caution. I ran into the following problem: I developed some applications using VB 6. I use the Package and Deployment Wizard to create the Installation Package. Everything was working fine until I downloaded and installed Windows XP Professional SP3.
The PC's that were using the Install CD had Windows XP Home Edition. As I said above, the Install was working fine until I installed Windows XP Professional SP3 on the development system. Once I installed SP3 and then used the Package and Deployment Wizard, the install Cd's would no longer work on systems that were using Windows XP Home.
To prove this, using the Control Panel /Add-Remove Software, I removed the updates to SP3; re-created the Install Cd's using the Package and Deployment Wizard and then tried again to install them on systems that were using Windows XP Home. The Installation worked fine.
