I have W98se. Another W98se and an XP. The latter two when I connect to ISP are set to Save Password and Connect Automatically in the connect dialog box. All 3 computers used to have both items checked. Now, the latter two still do but for some reason the first, while save password box is checked and grayed out making it permanent, the Connect Automatically is unchecked and to connect I must actually click on the Connect button to connect. Not so with other two.
I have gone through all the settings and comepared them on the two W98se PC's and even tried detting up a new connection. I can see no differences in the settings for the W98se PC's. I know it used to connect automatically but somehow has lost the ability.
Does anyone know what else or where else to check for a setting, or what other action to try?
I know sometimes you can resinstall things but i dont really want to have to go through re-installing W98se. I have IE 6.0.2800.1106 but I dont know if that update could have cause this for Im not sure when it occurred.
Just thought I would ask in case someone knows.
Would like to have both boxes checked and grayed so it automatically connects. ISP has told me that all the settings are on my computer and once I have the account set up I can set settings myself without calling them. So I dont believe it is an ISP problem as it is OK with other computers on same account.
