Good Morning Everyone, well the chat session on 9th of April 2008 for me was a coming and going affair, I was acting as dispatch and receiving clerk for one of my son's buying sorties.

So Rich had his new dual core machine running with a new Windows Vista Ultimate, (that is another fishy story!) and had finally actually got his sound working perfectly.
One might describe him as being as happy as a "PIG in POOH"!

My Pentium 100 and 16 megs of RAM still works well so how could one possibly be envious! Anyway I want the room here to be cooled, not heated uncontrollably! LOL!
Not that I am envious, but I am sticking pins into a mock-up of his machine!!! LOL!!

The discussions were fascinating, Momma certainly is good value!

All our girls were present during the session and delighful to hear.

I was extremely busy here with multiple machines online having great fun with our lovely Gordon, she made a mess and left me to clean it up!
Funny name for such an attractive voluptuous young lady, gee she types well though!
Actually "bounces"! would be a better description. (or part of her at least)
I hope she is present next week!

NYtoBoston made some interesting replies when spare blocks in hard drives and SMART was discussed, he is very impressive with his knowledge.

Motor cycles were discussed and DAN's pride of his garage is obviously his Suzuki and Yamaha motor cycles.
Personally I would have preferred a Honda, but some people are a little eccentric and live underground!

Cindy's new machine build was mentioned, Rich and Dan are going to build it for her in Dans Dungeon, personally I suspect it is somewhat akin to the story of the spider and the fly!
So I think Cindy's machine may be a smokesceen for these artful cads to lure her into the dungeon!
This entire building process was supposed to be videoed, my concern would be for the edits!
A search and rescue system has been arranged and Cindy will be wearing a wire!

One most interesting visitor was having a problem with slow speed dial-up operation and was seeking help to enable him to operate 2 modems in tandem using 2 phone lines, the idea behind this is to double his throughput speed online and is apparently referred to as "shotguning" .
The overall room suddenly went quiet almost as though it were a sigh of incredible interest, in reality it wasn't a "sigh" so much as a massive collective "duh"!
So the fellow was given enormous professional sounding assistance and eventually left in awe of this massive collection of geniuses to ponder on how many chickens were in his fowl yard!

Al came into the room with this mighty new leviathan machine of his, but unlike his previous W-98 machine where the audio was always perfect and clear and everything worked perfectly, this new Vista machine was not working all that well, kind of like the Titanic's signal in morse code! (even had the glug-glug sounds!)
He is expecting to have a new laser optic internet next week, so there is an excellent chance we may eventually hear the "one small step" speech then, provided his "water wings" last that long.

One young lady entered the room with a machine that wouldn't boot into Windows and was suitably professionally instructed in repartitioning a hard drive, I do hope she had no precious material on that machine.

This week's tricky question.
As everyone is aware a fly has two wings, but a dragonfly has four, why is this so? (clue : don't get technical)

So there was a good turnout of interest and nice people and once again it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Thankyou all for allowing my presence.

Cheers, Lawrence.

Well the good news Al went back and installed AoHell as we suggested and lo and behold, his dialup worked! Seems the problem had to be with the Earthlink software.

It's always a pleasure to read Lawrence's distortion of the events folks, and the only way for you all to know what really happened, is to show up next week. It really is a different experience from what Paltalk used to be, I guess partly because of the larger number of users, but also the more diverse group of regulars.

With John Campi's build finally stabilized, Dan and I look forward to moving on to Cindy's build. Any of you interested in the same thing for your own build only need contact Dan or me and we can do it for you also!

Sorry I missed it. I have family now and it's hard to break away to come to chat. Plus I'd rather wait til I get a new headset so I can talk too.
