To upload photos to post as an attachment at KH they need to be under 97.7 KB, otherwise you'll need to upload larger photos to a free image hosting site like ImageShack (http://www.imageshack.us/) or tinypic.com (http://tinypic.com/index.php)

Once uploaded to these or similar host sites, you can post the photo within the thread, inside your post as opposed to an attachment.

This thread (http://www.kickenhardware.net/forum/showthread.php?t=12611) has a good discussion and tips regarding some host sites.

To upload as an attachment:

When you right click on a photograph if you don't have an option to resize, go here (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx) and download this powertoy.

Once downloaded, when you right-click on your photo, you should see this:

Choose a size (medium seems to work well for this forum, not stretching the thread) and then click OK.

This will make a copy of your photograph in a smaller size, suitable for posting in forums or sending to family and friends by e-mail.

Kewl Carolyn. . . . .

I bet that comes in handy for eBay postings too.

If someone is going to post a close-up macro and/or a very large file, and if using ImageShack, they might choose to copy and paste a thumbnail of their photo directly into the post. When the thumbnail is clicked, the larger file will open for viewing in another window.
That way, those on dial-up or those that don't care to look at the huge file, don't have to. :)
