Hi

I dont see anything there. Try this.

Lets run an F-Secure online scan it will scan for Viruses, Spyware and RootKits:

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Start Scanning button. A window will pop up.
Allow the Active X control to be installed on your computer, then click the Accept button
Click Full System Scan and allow the components to download and the scan to complete.
If malware is found, check Submit samples to F-Secure then select Automatic cleaning
When cleaning has finished, click Show report (this will open an Internet Explorer window containing the report)
Highlight and Copy (CTRL + C) the complete report, and Paste (CTRL + V) in a new reply to this post

If Automatic cleaning with Submit samples hangs, click Cancel, then New Scan

When the cleaning option is presented, Uncheck Submit samples to F-Secure
Click Automatic cleaning
When cleaning has finished, click Show report (this will open an Internet Explorer window containing the report)
Highlight and Copy (CTRL + C) the complete report, and Paste (CTRL + V) in a new reply to this post

Note: This scan will only work with Internet Explorer.
You must be logged on a administrator rights to run this scan.
The scan may take a few hours.

Stop the scan. Id edited that out because Id overlooked that file initially. (I was just up). That iexplorer file is your problem and I need to give this speech.

I'm afraid I have unpleasant news for you. You have a Dangerous infection on this machine.
The infection is delivered by a Backdoor Trojan.
It allows outsiders COMPLETE access to every keystroke, account, and password you use while on this machine, and complete access to any other data present...
IF this computer has been used for any kind of important data, my best recommendation is to Disconnect from Internet, Re-Format the entire drive and re-install your Operating system and Applications.

We can likely clean the infected files off the computer, and if you wish we will attempt to do so, but we cannot be sure that the infection didn't do something to your system to reduce the system security. In that instance, even after removal of the infection, you could be subject to another attack or takeover as soon as you re-connect to the Internet.

The Decision Whether to ReFormat or Not should be based on:
The use of the computer - this is the primary factor in the decision whether to re-format and re-install, or just disinfect.
The variety of malware - this influences the decision on whether to re-format and re-install, or just disinfect.

If the Computer has been used for any important data, you are strongly advised to do the following, immediately:
Disconnect the infected computer from the internet and from any networked computers until the computer can be cleaned.
Back up all important data on the machine. Do not back up any Applications (programs). Those should be re-installed from the original source CDs or websites.
If you have ever used this computer for shopping, banking, or any transactions relating to your financial well being:
Call all of your banks, credit card companies, and financial institutions, informing them that you may be a victim of identity theft, and to put a watch on your accounts or change all your account numbers.
From a clean computer, change ALL your online passwords -- for ISP login, email, banks, financial accounts, PayPal, eBay, online companies, and any online forums or groups you belong to.
DO NOT change passwords or do any transactions while using the infected computer because the attacker will get the new password and transaction information.
Take any other steps you think appropriate for an attempted identity theft.

While you are deciding whether to ReFormat and Re-Install, a useful link is here: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/10063
Please let me know what you decide.

If you already have Combofix, please delete that copy and download it again as it's being updated regularly.

There is a tutorial on the basic use of Combofix here:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please download Combofix from Bleeping Computer (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe).

If you can't download it from there, please try these 2 alternative sites:

Forospyware (http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe)
Geeks to Go (http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe)

Save it to your Desktop.
Disconnect from the Internet.
Click on this LINK (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html) to see how to disable NOD32
Click Start>Run copy/paste or type "%userprofile%\desktop\combofix.exe" /killall into the Run box and click OK.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply with a new HijackThis log.

1.Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
2. ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making I-E the default browser.
3. Combofix prevents autorun of ALL CD, floppy and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you -- please tell your helper.
4. CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

In your next reply post:
ComboFix.txt
New HijackThis log taken after the above scan has run

CHANGEND MY MIND, I DO REFORMAT, BUT I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS before doing it!

Question 1) What protection software should I use after the reformat. I have now the trio: Malwarebytes, Zonealarm pro firewall and nod32
Question 2) How do I do the format thing on this computer, I have the HP_Recorvy hard drive. (D:\) - edit: I have figured out that by myself

thank you very much scotty for alerting me!

Hi

Is MBAM the free version? You will need an anti-spyware program. SuperAntiSpyware has a sticky at the top of this forum. I believe that gives you real-time protection for free.

Here's some additional protection.

Winpatrol
Winpatrol is heuristic protection program, meaning it looks for patterns in codes that work like malware. It also takes a snapshot of your system's critical resources and alerts you to any changes that may occur without you knowing. You can read more about Winpatrol's features here (http://www.winpatrol.com/features.html).

You can get a free copy (http://www.winpatrol.com/wpsetup.exe) of Winpatrol or use the Plus version (http://winpatrol.stores.yahoo.net/winplusmemre.html) for more features.

You can read Winpatrol's FAQ (http://www.winpatrol.com/faq.html) if you run into problems.

Spyware Blaster
SpywareBlaster is a program that is used to secure Internet Explorer by making it harder for ActiveX (http://surfthenetsafely.com/activex.htm) programs to run on your computer. It does this by disabling known offending ActiveX programs from running at all.

You can download SpywareBlaster from Javacool (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html).

If you need help in using SpywareBlaster, you can read SpywareBlaster's tutorial (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial49.html) at Bleeping Computer.

Hosts File
A Hosts file is like a phone book. You look up someone's name in the phone book before calling him/her. Similarly, your PC will look up the website's IP address before you can view the website.

Hosts file will replace your current Hosts file with another one containing well-known advertisement sites, spyware sites and other bad sites. This new Hosts file will protect you by re-directing these bad sites to 127.0.0.1.

Here is a good Hosts file:

MVPS Hosts File (http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm)

A tutorial (http://forum.malwareremoval.com/viewtopic.php?t=22187) about Hosts File can be found at Malware Removal.

Make sure your Windows is ALWAYS up to date!

An unpatched Windows is vulnerable and even with the "best" Antivirus and Firewall installed, malware will find its way through.
So visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ to download and install the latest updates.

Update your Antivirus programs and other security products regularly to avoid new threats that could infect your system.

Please check out Tony Klein's article "How did I get infected in the first place?" (http://castlecops.com/t7736-So_how_did_I_get_infected_in_the_first_place.html)

Here is some great information from experts in this field that will help you stay clean and safe online.
http://forum.malwareremoval.com/viewtopic.php?t=14

Follow this list and your potential for being infected again will reduce dramatically.

I'd be grateful if you could reply to this post so that I know you have read it and, if you've no other questions, the thread can be closed.

So I continue to have Malwarebytes (free) and Nod32 and ZA pro firewall. Then I'll get winpatrol etc.

I always have windows and my security programs up-to-date. And I don't visit or click suspicious sites or links.

I have no clue how I did get that troijan that lead to this. I'm very careful.

I understood everything.

And to my luck I can come here to KH ask questions if something wonders my mind or something goes wrong.

btw, when I deleted that file with combofix my computer performance came back to the normal.

"going to format, corss fingers it goes well, last time on my xp computer I lost the sound totally, you can ask Donna what kind of pain in the arse that problem was"

AND many thanks for your professional help Scotty, I appreciate it.

Scotty

I formatted mine yesterday, and had no sound either. Previously MS used to have the driver for download but it never worked. You are better getting the driver from Realtek, unless you are talking about else and I should shut up now.

SAS doesnt give real time protection in the free version

http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html

Scotty
06-15-2008, 12:04 PM
That leaves Spybot S&D for free real-time protection. That includes a HOSTS file protector, so MVPS wont be necessary.

Okay, the reformat and things did go well.. Now surfing with high caution, just installed Eset Smart Security (anyone have some information if its good or not) Now installing other security stuff. Then starting the endless hunt of my programs.

Will later post a hjt log when i have downlaoded and installed everythig, that I havent got some bad luckers again on this computer.

Edit: Nice to have my own scotty patrolling around my computer (winpatrol)
