Once again, not myself :D
I`ve now got this nagging little problem.MSN has hijacked my homepage. No matter what I do,MSN is always my homepage on my browser.I`m running IE7 on XP.I`ve googled lots of posts with this problem, but I still can`t find a solution to get rid of it without a fresh install.
Does anyone know of a straight forward solution please?

Hi Oldie
List the security programs installed. One of them is probably protecting the homepage.

Hello
AVG and Avast? Both anti-virus's? Tell whoever to remove one if so.
You know, it would be easier if they communicated directly. I dont like this idea of 3rd party assistance.

Yes I'm fully aware of that, but as I've explained in the past, these third party problem posts are from a small group of elderly folk who recently bought their very first computer. Mainly so as to e-mail their offspring. Although I occasionally help them with the more straightforward problems, and how to's, I prefer to post the more complex stuff here. If I receive a response from a KH member then OK .. if no response then fair enough. I tried.
Whoof .. hope this be the last time for explanations .. I'm all out of puff. Where's BM when needed?

At the moment I've managed to convince them to use Firefox. But I won't let go of the MSN hijack thingy me jig with IE.
Scotty young chap. As I personally have few if any problems, other than those of a physical nature, I chose KH as the third party go between. There is usually someone here willing to help, so thanks for your input. Besides, BM insisted I use no other board, so that leaves me with literally no alternative :frown:

Let's do it one step at a time. Find out if it is two anti-virus's, then list the methods tried already of resolving this, so I know what not to post.
There are many options out there.:D
