Hi,
The way I mostly use this BBS is to login and view New Posts.
I'm wondering if there is a way to Filter or Hide certain Forums
from being displayed when I view New Posts. For example, I could
configure my user settings such that the Humor and News forums
never display any items when I view New Posts.
That would be a great help, but is it possible?

I like Pete's idea. I am only interested in technical postings.

Well, not to be a whiner LOL.

But I liked the way the "ole" BBS allowed you to veiw new posts since last visit.

But hey, this is new software, new experience, and probably like everything else takes 14 years to master. LOL.

Adam, great job on the new layout.

I do not know of a way offhand to hide and unhide specific forums. You can however on the main page - if you don't want say the Off-Topic forum and all if its subforums, click the right button on the title bar. That button has two upwards facing carets if I remember right. That will hide that entire forum. I don't know of a way to do this with subforums though.

Dan, it's not about whining. I didn't view your issue like that.
It's a valid point with an easy answer.

Try this....

Quick Links -> Mark Forums Read

That should do it.

I just did that and I don't see any indication they are read...am I missing something?

It appeared to me that, when I click on new posts, and then log out, all of the new posts are marked as read by me. N'est pas?

Nope, I just tried that and the messages that were unread still came
up after logging back in. I had actually logged out and it required me
to re-enter my name and password.

As a side note, I found that if you want it to remember your name
and password, and log you in automatically, you should never
click.. log out. Just close your browser.

Ok, after all the above, I was in New Posts section and did the
QuickLinks -> Mark Forums Read thing and the screen updated
leaving me back at the main index. I followed that by doing
New Posts again and it told me there were no new posts.
So, for me, it works as it should and just as expected.
