Everyone,
Let me say up front that I've been a big fan of Eudora having used
it since 1997, but the future looks looks grim for continued use
past version 6.2. I'm on version 6.2 now which works fine,
except for a few minor annoyances that many of us have been
looking to be fixed in new releases.
WARNING - Upgrade to Eudora Version 7
I just came from the Eudora support BBS and did a search on the web,
and there are many unhappy customers who upgraded to Eudora 7 and
are experiencing problems. A common complaint I saw was that their tech
support group is not dealing with the problems to the satisfaction of the
customers. People who have been loyal Eudora customers for years are
dumping Eudora because of the way the company is treating them.
There's a lot more to this that I won't go into here, but to me this
indicates that Eudora may be in it's final stages of development.
It might be a good time to look at other Email clients such as
Thunderbird which is an Open Source project and likely to be
supported for a very long time.
