This one's from the good folks at dubyaD40.com.
Maybe it's not too late to give Texas back to the Mexicans; And you can take Goober-in-Chief to boot. There seems to be a new trend going through this country that you are guilty until proven innocent:

Red States really suck.

When we first read the headline, we thought it was Kansas. Worse, it was Texas.

Bar Sweep Sparks Controversy

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission sent a message to bar patrons last week.

TABC agents and Irving police swept through 36 Irving bars and arrested about 30 people on charges of public intoxication. Agency representatives say the move came as a proactive measure to curtail drunken driving.

{snip}

At one location, for example, agents and police arrested patrons of a hotel bar. Some of the suspects said they were registered at the hotel and had no intention of driving. Arresting authorities said the patrons were a danger to themselves and others.

"Going to a bar is not an opportunity to go get drunk," TABC Capt. David Alexander said. "It's to have a good time but not to get drunk."

Life in a red state - ain't it wonderful??? The next thing we know the TABC will be hanging around liquor stores arresting anybody leaving with more than a pint on the off-chance they will try chug their purchase(s) before driving home. :eek:

I see you have a new avatar. Is that Don Rumsfeld standing and flexing between two super heroes?

The one and only; I found that a while ago and just wanted to prove to all 'dem Librils that this administration hasn't lost touch with reality. :)

I was thinking that the TABC targeting bar patrons who might drive under the influence seems rather preemptive. Now if we were to name this policy after the former governor of Texas, we could call it the Bush Doctrine - arrest / attack when a possibility exists without any clear knowledge of intent. Now that sounds familiar ..... you don't suppose??? ..... Nah, couldn't be ..... Could it? :eek:
