Everyone,
It seems that this new BBS software automatically handles long URLs.
It abbreviates them to keep them from being excessively long.
See example below. Hover mouse of URL to see the full URL within
your browser.
BTW: I'm in the "Enhanced.." editing mode of the
USER CP - Editing Options, in case that makes a difference
No more TinyURL required! :D

It doesn't matter which mode you are in.
The problem with tinyurl and snipurl's is that they DO expire. So for archiving it screws us in the long run. A year down the road and we have a link to a site for info and tiny/snip has removed it, we now have no more link and its useless.

Ok, thanks for the info.
I always wondered how long those TinyURLs lasted.

Wow! That solves a big problem for me -- no more horizontal scrolling to read text affected by a long url. This really bugged me on the old board.
Thanks, Smokey!

Yeah I meant to tell everyone I noticed that this software shortens them, I noticed that a while ago on Cyber Tech. And Adam's right, that really fouls up archives using "tiny url's".
