View Full Version : Multiple Acronis Scheduled Backups

I scheduled 2 backups on the same day, one on C and one on D. The first one executes just fine. The 2nd one hangs. Must reboot and do it manually.
BTW, is it possible to restore just one drive image in you combine the images to include both C and D. That is essentially the reason I prefer separate images, one for C and one for D.
Any thoughts?

Fred if I read that right the answer is no...an image file is an image file regardless if it includes 2 partitions which actually I don't think is possible anyway.
I cannot imageine why the second one hung up though, though I have never used scheduling for creating these. What version are you using?

What about a single image of that drive? Does it run ok?
Chkdsk the drive?
How are they scheduled?
I have my machines do multiple partitions, but not at the same time, they stagger on different schedules. I also have it do daily incrementals on the OS.
I have had a bad incremental but it always completes.
You can do C+D, the stupid screen always default checks C anyway .... whether it restores the whole thing to one partition or puts them back in correct location, I don't know.
The scheduler works. I would suspect some problem reading that partition. I have noticed it can have problems if there are any bad files on the partition.
How is the system time?
Clock generator went south on daughter's mobo.
If the time sync exceeds the value in the registry, the time service stops, the clock is off, any scheduled tasks fail to run.

Yes you can do C+D but youI doubt you can restore only C from that is the question I think.

I know the scheduler works for just one task per session, but it refuses to do the second partition at a later time on the same day. Later, I reboot and schedule the 2nd partition, no problem. I am using version 8.

I am wondering if 9.0 would make a difference. I don't know because I never "schedule" anything on a pc.

You got me stumped Fred.
You have created two individual tasks in the Acronis scheduler to run a backup of two different drives at two different times ... correct?
The second one does not execute?
What does the log show (In the Acronis program window)?
It should give a reason why the backup failed.
After the first completes, everything else with the machine is ok?
If you right click on the task and "start now" does each execute?
After the first task runs, can you right click on the next task and "start now" and does that one run?
Have you Edited the task and made sure all the settings are correct, path, user, password?
I just found one that wasn't running because somehow I got the path messed up. Didn't notice it until I started checking dates in my target folder.
Sure enough, it was highlighted in red in the log.
