I'm still trying to figure out why. I can't use my past user name on paltalk. It was Isee, its still basicy there but. I can't login with it, I went to login on the website and it said to e-mail this such and such e-mail address. I know they went to that they want you to have like 4 or more chractors in your name on there. I just find it unfair, I pretty much lost my friends list. I'm more likely going to e-mail paltalk or see what they say. Has anyone els had this happen to them?
btw: I'm currently, Isee4bro on paltalk now.

I lost my pal list when I uninstalled PalTalk and then installed its latest version. Because the old name "was already in use," I had to use a new name.
My error probably was not using the upgrade option (which I did not see) on the old version......and I don't think there is a way to reinstall the old version to get the pal list.
BTW, Isee, welcome back!:cheer2:

As long as you both weren't on the old version and trying to login, you should have been able to get back your logon. I have done it hundreds of times but I would bet there was something peculiar about your logon you are forgetting or you aren't using the right password.
When you upgrade or re-install Paltalk, you need to select "existing user" option.
You both probably selected "new user" option, in which case when you try to log-in with your old ID, you get the "was already in use" message.

Paltalk does not store your pal list on your computer - I access Paltalk from 5 different computers and I get my pal list on all of them from the instant I setup.
And yes you have to login in the first time as existing user for paltalk to associate a known user to the login. Otherwise, paltalk does a scan of it's database when you attempt new user status to see if that id is available.

kinda, old post to reply to but....
just was thinking i would.... do an final update on this item...
I am unable to use my user name Isee on paltalk due to them, not allowing 4 charator names. Only to allow have 5 charactor names and higher.
Not sure if they force this in paltalk 8.0 versions or what.
not much, that I can do but. I think overall it was unfair to past paltalk users. I have lost my buddy list due to the lost of my short screenname. Oh well on to my longer complete version of my sn.
I will now be known as: Isee4bro on paltalk.
I'm currently working on trying to make it back into the room on Wednesdays, if I remember right is went its open.
I'm open for any sn to add back to my list and info on the room.
Sincerely,
Isee aka Isee4bro

I doubt there is anything you can do about that as far as getting yoiur list back and wasn't aware they have made such a change.
