You all don't know Russell H. Gray. Russ was a member of my computer club and died this week at the age of 87: http://snipurl.com/RussGrayObit

Russ was instrumental in the development of Color Film for DuPont and Kodak. I once saw his basement lab --- errh, uh, museum.

Russ was the only guy I knew that did his wordprocessing in a spreadsheet (anyone remember Lotus Symphony) long after Wordprocessing became common place.

We computer know-it-alls often talk about 'heat related problems.' Russ was the only computer person I know that actually measured the temperature of his hard drive over time to convince the manufacturer that there really was a heat problem.

In later years, Russ knew he was slipping and was into vitamin supplements. He actually tested various vitamin brands for the 'real' content of Gingko Biloba. He knew which ones had what was on the label, and which ones didn't. Once a chemist, always a chemist!

Some guy.
