There is a Secure Site I am trying to access. The url starts out with: http://... I do have a UserID and Password for this site.

What is happening after entering the Userid and password, the current screen disappears and I return back to the desktop screen. I was told by the Secure Site (Morgan Stanley) tech support that my problem resides within Zone Alarm. I am using ZA Pro Version 6.1.744.001

I tried the following, after each point listed below, trying to access the site:
-Under Firewall: Internet ZOne Security and Trusted Zone Security was set on Medium, I changed it to Low.
- Program Control - turned OFF (was set to Medium)
-Smart Defense Advisor - turned OFF (was set to Automatic)
-Automatic Lock - turned OFF (was set to On)
-Under Privacy - added to Site List
- Under ID Lock - added it to Trusted SItes

I even tried turning ZA off and still have the results. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Sam

What browser?
Is it an IE only site that relies on Active-X to enter the secure https: ?
IE security settings?

This would be a browser problem.
Could even be a problem with their logon.

I am using IE. I did go to Tools/Internet Options and then Security tab. Under Trusted Sites I added the "https://....". I changed the Security Level from Medium to Low.

Under the Privacy tab, within Settings I added the site:"http://...." and made sure "Pop-Up blocker" is not checked.

Is there anything else in IE I need to verify?

Just curious, have you ever been able to access this site? from this machine? from any machine?

Yes I have. This is why I am questioning the tech support representative. When I was able to access this site, I did have ZA Pro, Nod32, and Ad-Aware on the system. I have updated these products since that time but the problem is I don't remember at what point this problem started.

Yes I have. I have had ZA Pro, NOD32, and Ad-Aware for a long time. I know I was able to access this site while these products were installed on my PC. I have updated these products but the problem is I don't remember at what point the problem started.

Do you have AdAware Plus with Adwatch? That will block popups.
Some of these sites use an Active-X popup to spawn the logon window. Had the same problem with a work site I use that requires all popup blocking off in order to get the logon box.

Disable ZA, Nod32, AdAware and anything else you have blocking and work through a bare IE and the security settings. Go through the ADVANCED security settings check boxes one by one and try the lowest levels.

I forget exactly what checkbox I had to use to finaly enable the logon to the site I was trying to access.

Do you have AdAware Plus with Adwatch?

Yes I do. I think I ruled out ZoneALarm and all of my other security programs.

I brought the system up in "Safe Mode with Networking". I have the same problem.
I believe doing this way would only install the necessary files to start the system and allow networking. It looks like it might be an internet or windows problem.

You did disable AdWatch? I know for sure that will block an Active-X popup window.

Can you load the site in Firefox?
If the logon is Active-X scripting IE only, it won't work in FF which will narrow it down some.

Does the logon set a cookie? Is there any cookie blocking enabled?

If you want to post the full URL, we can check and see if any of us have the problem.

To disable Ad-Watch, I right clicked on the icon and then clicked on Unload-Ad-Watch. Under Internet Options/Advance Privacy Setting, I have checked "Accept First and Third Party Cookies" and "Always allow session cookies".
I do not have FireFox installed.

The URL is: http://www.morganstanley.com/online
I can get to this screen and then it ask for a UserID and Password. As soon as I enter both and hit Enter, that's when I have the problem.

The latest version of the Java J2SE Runtime Environment is version 5.0, Update 6. It is a free download from:
