We in Finland has nothing to do with the war in Iraq, but still 2 Finnish business men have died there... US troops escorted them and they got attacked by talibans.

Anyone who has ever looked into the glazed eyes of a soldier dying on the
battlefield will think hard before starting a war. ~Otto Von Bismark
In war, there are no unwounded soldiers. ~José Narosky

I support our troops. I oppose this war.
Don't we support ALL troops no matter what country they hail fom? I know I support all troops!
Is there anyone (in their right mind) that doesn't oppose this war? I know I oppose this war!

I support our troops. My brother-in-law was in the navy, and deployed to Iraq as a navy core men. My brother while not wounded, will never be the same. He still wakes up with nightmares and we have to do everything to calm him so he don't hurt someone or himself, which he has tried to kill himself. While I don't totally oppose the war, I am not totally for the war. I belive that it was inevitable, and something needed to be done now.

US Marines' Afghan tour extended (http://askothernews.myway.com/article//20080704/B1228525291215154842A0.html)
The Pentagon has extended the tour of 2,200 Marines in Afghanistan, after insisting for months the unit would come home on time.
The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, which is doing combat operations in the volatile south, will stay an extra 30 days and go home in early November rather than October, Marine Col David Lapan confirmed.

The Marines are only on 6 month tours though so 30 days is nothing.
It still sucks and blows at an audio rate and will not get better with age.
If you are waiting to go home :frown:
30 days is a long time ........

This will end up being a thread that has all different kinds of views like all of those about the war. I have always opposed the war. I want the US out of Iraq. However, there would be brutal killings and violence in Iraq even if the US had never entered into this war. Remember Saddam? Remember the Iran/Iraq War? They have been fighting over there in the Middle East ever since the birth of man. It will continue when we leave. I am saddened by the images in those photos, but almost think it is a piece of propaganda that is being used. You could take photos like these anywhere in the Middle East. The number of injured and killed is dwarfed by those killed in the Iraq/Iran War and by Saddam. The good thing about the photos is it helps to remind us how brutal and cruel the world and people can be.
