IE broke

Here at work on one of the XP machines, IE wouldn't go to any web site that was typed in manually. It would go to any link that you clicked on. If you typed in a URL, it did nothing; the loading status bar wouldn't even start up.

I noticed that a Windows update had just completed. There was no time for research, the quickest thing I could think of was to do a System Restore.

It worked. Let's see if this happens to anyone else.
