In my opinion, that's a good thing we can't reply via Email.
Problem with Emailed posts is that the forum ends up getting cluttered
with over-quoted posts, Jeopardy posts, and all sorts of problems when
an email client has problems handling HTML. Plus those people using the
email method lose all the great functionality built into the VB forum.

You know something I have to agree and I used to post somewhere else that way all the time. When you do that you don't have the ability to read past posts so you frequently answer incorrectly and the other thing is the sheer lack of thinking on the part of the posters who never pull anything out of their answers and repeat posting makes you scroll endlessly to get through that. That is so inconsiderate. You all know who I am alluding to!

Pete, you are soooo right! I hope we do not provide a reply-via-email feature for members; it could clutter up the board with gibberish and non sequiturs.
However, I like the feature we have that enables me to receive replies from the forum via email for those topics to which I have posted. I can read those and access the forum later when I have more time.
Adam, you are the greatest!!!

I completely agree with Pete, Rich and Lina that email posting generally lowers the overall quality of a BBS. Ninety five percent of the junky postings on email-enabled boards come from the email participants. They include off topic and redundant posts with half a thread repeated in each new post by an email client that routinely includes prior correspondence. Email protocols and BBS protocols are quite different and the supporting software reflects those differences.
I personally would prefer Kicken remain limited to browser input.

I agree, despite being the one to raise the point.

Right, Email is good for "read only" purposes as a convenience and
also becasue it's easy to post something and then miss a reply.
I think the Vbulletin developers did a fantastic job with this version.
