One of my best buddies from Cybertech Forum has just joined us by my invite and you will find here highly knowledgeable on hardware and XP as she works in the industry as most of us do, repairing systems. Oh and like me she is also a Photographer (obviously).
Please welcome her as these are the entrants we always covet (unlike our predecessor BBS who considers great techs "a dime a dozen", and it shows) and her experience is invaluable.
I am also expecting Seth from there to join us right behind her and both intend to join us for Paltalk as well on Wednesday nights!
More Great Happenings to come!!!!

Welcome Photolady!
I used to be heavy into 35mm photography. Trick potograpghy was my
specialty. I mostly did it as a hobby but I did a few weddings for
friends and relatives too.
Since I got a cheap Olympus digital camera, I hardly ever use my
35mm equipment anymore.
Maybe other members here who are into photography have a website
where we can see some photos. All my trick photography is in print
format. I'd have to scan them and post them on my website.

Welcome, Photolady!:cheer2:
It will be nice to have a computer- and photo-savvy woman's input. The guys here are great; a female perspective will be the icing on the cake.
:welcome:

Thanks for the welcome. I have to mention though, photography is a past thing for me. I haven't photographed much since full time computer repair takes my time now. And computers are a lot more fun for me that photography ever was. Now I just shoot nature, bugs, waterfalls (b/w) and flowers, I like closeups better than anything on flowers. But as I said, I have done any photography in the last four years. When I did photos, it was with a Pentax mz-5n, which I still have. I've never ventured into digital and probably never will, now that I've hung up my Pentax.
Now computers.......I tinker, I build, and I help in four other forums. I am originally from Virtual Dr. I mod there and have for the past 2.5 years. I went to cybertech because I have friends there and one asked me to come help. Then Rich asked me to come here. So, here I am. I hope I can help out and hope to get to know you all.
Thanks again for the welcome!!

Thanks, Pete. My first hearty laugh of the day (no joke emails yet today).
It's a long list of quotes but worth the time; they get funnier as you read on.

yeah well that's my background too and what is sad is what happens when I finally take out a camera. I wind up reading the entire manual all over again, especially with digital. Digital isn't easy like everyone thinks, to do it right is much more difficult than working with film.

I still like my nature shots, and I have yet to see a digital that will do closeups good enough for me.
When I quit pro shooting, I had until recently $2000 into my equipment. I've since sold the Metz handle mount flash, Bogen wilderness tripod, and 300mm lens (pentax brand) and all lighting equipment. But I kept my closeup outfit. I just can't seem to find the time, or the want to, to keep this hobby up.

Time for photography my way is my problem also. Being in portraits I was fed up with what isd commercially acceptible and wanted to do what I wanted to. I felt that would happen once I left the business. All that really happened was I forgot how to do everything and became as rusty as can be.
Oh as for close ups, no reason anything should change. I use my older Nikon 35-135 macro lens for closeups same on my D70 as it was on my film N70.
