You know you have power when Right-Wing media attempts an end-run to discredit you before your project is even released. Fox News and Drudge both publicised the Lyrics of Neil's song,"Let's Impeach the President" yesterday; Seemed like a good way to stir up their "base", I guess. But that base is getting smaller and smaller every day. It's hard to build outrage and claim that Neil is trying to capitalise on Bush's unpopularity to make money when he's streaming the album for FREE all over the internet:

I notice the links on Drudge are gone and the only Neil now available on Fox is Cavuto. Thanks for the publicity, Boys! Haven't seen such a sucessful campaign since Bill OReilly made Al Frankin a best-selling author.
I also saw on Fox that the president thinks the National Anthem should only be sung in English, not Spanish. Neil obliges on his song, "Living with War". And how are they going to label this album "Unpatriotic" when he ends it with a choir singing "America the Beautiful"? Plus there is a trumpet playing in "Shock and Awe" that could have come straight out of Howard Hawks' "Rio Bravo".
This is classic Neil, recorded in 12 hours with guitar, bass, drums, trumpet and about a hundred back-up singers; a throwback to the times of Broadside Ballads and Minstrels spreading the news of the day. Since news outlets no longer broadcast news, this may be coming back in style: "Everything that's old is new again..........." :music: :peace: :canada:
