Everyone,
Take the tour of IE7 at the link below.
I don't recommend downloading and installing it because there is
no clear & easy path that I can see for uninstalling it and going
back to IE6. The tour will get you aquainted if you are curious.

When you open Add/Remove there is check box up at the top of this window says "Show Updates" Check the box and you'll see IE 7. Then click on remove. Simple eh?

Btw, there are instructions for adding IE 7 without overinstalling IE6. I'll find em and post the in this thread if anyone is interested?

Okay found it. Here is the intructions for installing IE7 as a standalone browser apart from IE6. Thus keeping both on your computer.

1.) Create an IE7 folder on your desktop. Download and extract the exe to this folder (In XP, I right clicked on the *.exe and told it to "extract here". I am sure Winzip or WinRAR will do the same thing if you want to use that.)

2.) Delete the UPDATE subfolder that formed under the IE7 folder that you made.

3.) Delete the shlwapi.dll in the IE7 folder that you made and extracted the IE7.EXE to.

4.) Create a BLANK FILE called IEXPLORE.exe.local with notepad.exe and putting it into the In the IE7 folder that you made and extracted the IE7.EXE to.

5) click on Explorer.exe in the IE7 folder that you made and extracted the IE7.exe to run MS IE 7.0 Beta2

Ok photolady, that sounds like a good approach
to have both versions of IE. Thanks ---pete---

You're welcome Pete. I figured others might want this approach rather than installing over top of IE6. This way they can use both and compare them. ;)
