Adam et all, do you think it would be a good idea to arrange the smilies list in alphabetical order?
It would be easier to find a particular one you may want to use.

I don't think that is an easily changed function. To do it I'd have to go into the site code and attempt to sort them (thats if I could find the portion of hte code to do that in).

You know I have to believe things like activating spell check and being able to close threads is slightly more important! Even descriptions on the forums would be another choice badly needed here.

I see nothing wrong with Lina making that suggestion because those in
control can simply add it to their "to do" list and then set their own
prioities. It's always hard to get people to give feedback so I always
appereciate it when they do make any effort what so ever. :)
I second the Spell Check issue. I miss that.
Most other vBulletin Forms I've seen have no spell check enabled so I
suspect it's tricky to setup or problematic. However, on the one vB forum
(Tech Support Guy Forum) that I have seen Spell Check working, it does
work well.
Rich, what is the issue with "descriptions on the forums" ?
How would that work? Why is that needed?
On priorities, I think that getting the old message archives online
is real important if a main goal is to attract new members. This assumes
that the Internet Search Engines can get to those archives once
they are posted here.

In the test version, vbSpell was up and working. Unfortunately, something broke as we went live. :sorry: As I mentioned earlier, ieSpell is an alternative for Internat Explorer users.

I do agree the a functioning spell checker should be one of our highest priorities, particularly for clumsy typists like me.

Pete,
Nothing mean spirited about what I said, it's just Adam is wrestling with Finals this month and at the end of the month when he returns to Philly for good, I'm sure we can get a lot done. All I was saying is "priorities".
Descriptions we have actually had before which is to say what should go in Hardware/Software reviesw, Windows XP etc, to help people choose where to put a post...in fact I thought someone had suggested a whole bunch a while back, but that needs to be done as we have a few seemingly duplicative headers to post in.
"To do" list doesn't work well with this bunch. We do better with "constant crisis" management. You know more like "seat of the pants" or reactive planning where you "swat" at problems.

Ok, no problem. Knowing the good relationship Lina has with everyone
here I didn't think she'd take offense, but someone else not that
familiar with the people here might interpret things differently
and be intimidated to post their own suggestions. My personal
feeling is that suggestions and feedback of any kind (even negative)
should be treated like gold and the person who took the time to
say something should always be made to feel like their effort is
appreciated. ---pete---

Rich,
This forum categories issue is actualy a very interesting topic.
I'll break it out as a separate topic.... Descriptions on the Forums

Adam and Rich, naive me thought that perhaps alphabetizing smilies could be as easy as "sort by name" in Bookmarks and Favorites.
Pete, Rich has too many pluses for me to get offended when he's a little blunt. He's often been very helpful, patient, and generous with his time.
