I hope you all noticed this salescircular isn't just computer oriented parts. It also includes many other every day items.
And just for the record.....I'm anti Norton. :D

I guess that's what happens when you post that on a computer forum. ;) I noticed, but I was mostly interested in the computer parts.
And just for the record.....I'm anti Norton. :D
I am somewhat. I think it's a resource hog, but it is easy for inexperienced users to use.

But really that one is the only show in town...there is no way I'm going to Linux. I have done all I am going to to try to work with that. I wouldn't mond having a Mac Powerbook though.

As for M$ vs. Linux. You Linux users can keep it. I have more than $2000 tied up in PC software that won't work with Linux. And more than $1000 tied up in equipment that also doesn't have Linux drivers.
I wouldn't mond having a Mac Powerbook though Nope, not me, been there, done that too. :D

I like Linux and Windows OSes. I have XP, SUSE 10, Fedora core 5 & Ubuntu 5.10 all on my computer, and I like them all, although I do like XP the most. I bought software that only works with it, and some of my hardware doesn't work as well in Linux. :(
I'm interested in Macs, but would rather build a PC for half the price with equal or better specs.

The thing that always ends my forays into Linux is my inability to get my usb wireless adapters to work. I have every version of Mandrake from7 up, RedHat 3 versions, Suse 2 versions, Lindows, and 3 others I can't remember and could not get one of them to work with broadband wireless.
The other problem is the "rustic" software available to Linux leaves so much to be desired.
I think one day I'll put my 10 versions of Linux up for $10 on eBay soon and try to get them all out of here.

The discussion of the relative merits of anti-virus products was way off topic from Photolady's original post, so I move the AV discussion messages to a new topic in the the Virus / Spyware / Firewalls forum. The new topic is named The Great AV Debate. Enter at your own risk.

That seems to me the proper thing to do. It's really not fair to the
original poster to take a topic too far off the topic and sometimes I'm
guilty of that too. But I've also had it done to me and I didn't like it.
I applaud Terry for his consideration. :clap2:

Thanks Terry. I was going to ask one of you to just what you did. Now it's done and it's not overshadowing my original post.
