Tiger Direct has a 802.11g 54 mbps wireless router for free after rebates here (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=1770703&sku=D700-2284%20ISS&CMP=ILC-FPM11). It also comes with eTrust's ISS 2006. Not the fastest wireless standard, but you can't beat the price. ;)
Edit: I just found this (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2131983). $15 after rebates, 108mbps.

I might have to get that, then (currently have a wired network). Too good a deal to miss, although I've seen the free one advertised for a few months. It would be nice if it had a printer server, but I always could use my computer or an old one I have for that purpose.

What does it mean you have to purchase something else to qualify for this deal?
Also, Pi rules, that's quite an interesting signature there. Do you recommend moving the i386 folder onto main hard drive to simplify sfc?

I'm pretty sure that the combo deal doesn't require anything else. eTrust's security suite is free after rebate separate, but requires either an upgrade or separate product, such as that router.

I don't really recommend it to people when asking them to use it (rather keep it simple, at least until the problem is gone). For anyone with excess storage on their hard drive, I would recommend it, though.

Dale most of the experienced users and mods on larger forums such as Cyber Tech create signatures like that to avoid constantly typing or copying the most common responses all the time. It really makes sense too!

As well as something like "Please don't PM me for help..." for most of the moderators and a few of the users (like Rich) who would otherwise get bombarded with PMs for help. I just use invisible mode and don't get PM'ed too much for help.
I almost made a text document with my most common answers, like when the taskbar & icons don't appear. I might this summer, when I have more time to be on forums.

This brings up a great point, Pi and Rich. With all the experience we gather thru many unique situations and battles with pc's, we develop some methods of madness that we tend to follow as normal procedure in any given area. I'd love to read over a 'text' document of common answers, as what someone may consider common may shed light to another.
Another thing Rich, for more in depth topics/problems (such as sfc) instead of just a text document, we could have you, Pi, or anyone host a Paltalk session on such. Then follow it up with others' thoughts and questions on the host's methods.

Interesting idea. I've made tutorials (html) for a forum I belong to, but I've never even used Paltalk. Wouldn't something like an html tutorial with screenshots (or a flash tutorial, although I've never used it, I don't have $900 to spare) help more than someone talking you through?
PS: Should we make a new topic for this?

Well the flash tutorial is a whole other idea that I have had for down the road. we have also talked about doing webcasts also.

Pi,
At this point, I'll take html screen shots, flash tutorials, paltalk. I am a multi-faceted learner.
