Everyone,
With the blessings of the system operators here, I'd like to use this
thread for posting recommendations for useful software that is available
as a FREE download. Over time, this thread should serve as an excellent
archive of FREE programs.
Basic rules for posting:
* Program must be FREE and fully functional.
* Provide a brief description.
* Provide a URL/link where it can be downloaded from.
* Limit your post to one program per post.
Reason being, entire post can be deleted at a future date if
we find for any reason that it's a bad recommendation.
* By posting, you vouch that you have run it successfully for a
reasonable amount of time and to the best of your knowledge,
it does not contain any malware. Evident by the fact that it is
still operating after you've run all your anti virus & spyware scans.

FileZilla is a fast FTP and SFTP client for Windows with a lot of features. FileZilla Server is a reliable FTP server.
Operating System: 32-bit MS Windows (95/98), 32-bit MS Windows (NT/2000/XP), All 32-bit MS Windows (95/98/NT/2000/XP), Win2K, WinXP
For FTP I was using an older version of WS_FTP but I recently
discovered Filezilla . It's Open Source, FREE. Highly recommended!

Foxit Reader for Windows
Info:
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php
Foxit Reader is a free reader for PDF (Portable Document Format) documents. You can view and print PDF documents with it.
Foxit Reader is small (the download is less than 1MB), so it downloads quickly. It doesn't need any installation, so you can start to run it as soon as you've downloaded it.
And It starts up immediately, so you don't need to wait for an annoying "Welcome" screen to disappear.
Foxit Reader is extremely easy to use, just double click it to start and then click open button to open your PDF document. If you want to print, click on "Print" button. If you want to change the page layout for printing, select "Print Setup" from "File" menu.
Love this program; No Adobe BLOAT!
They offer more advanced features for a price, but this is great for reading and printing.

Avoid browser hijack, keep startup (lean and mean), add services and change the ones you mean to...you can use it free or buy it for extra service thatwill take you to their website and tell you all about the proposed change incuding where it came from and whether it is safe or no. One time buy fee all upgrades free after that $25 I believe.

Anyone have a free firewall that will allow a network to work and won't close down all browsers all the time? I have tried 12 to no avail. Please don't tell me( ZA, Kerio or dead Sygate....)

Everyone,
Here's a great alternative to Roxio or Nero. The interface is similar
to Nero. I've been using it for a few months and it works great!
It's FREE and he has a pay version with some extra features.
