Some of you will probably faint "dead away" to see me post this
Short Circuit City has a 400 Watt Antec 24 pin with sata connectors etc
for $69.99 less $40 rebate...ending up at $29.99.
Now normally I would be the last person who would know this, however I have had a problem with my Dfi 4800 Athlon 2 gig Kingston Ram Super eBay buy and was assured by a "know-it -all" on Tech Support Guy forum that my freezes were caused by using a 20 pin Psu on this system. he was backed yup by a note on DFi site that prolongued use would produce instability. I kept buying higher watt 24 pin supplies that keep not getting here so in a rage I went to Reading yesterday, for my first retail "adventure" in 4+ years.
Worst Buy has the worst selection of psu's known to man I think the same one I paid $29.99 for was $149.99 there and the rest were all Dynex brand, that are too good for my dumpster here from the unbelieveable high price of $69.99 to $89.99....so on to Short Circuit City and a decent deal!
I am commissioning LK to track my rebate as undoubtedly when it comes in I won't even remember what it is for!
Oh and the freezes, had nothing to do with PSU...I am wrestling with what to do about it but I installed a separate usb 2.0 card for usb network adapter and freezes are gone. I think basically the board is crap and am not sure I want to be so annoyed as to take it out and send it back to get someone else's crap returned to me rma. I think I'll run it for a year or so and then throw it away and buy a real motherboard. After all it was sort of free.
