ATI CAT 6.5 is out

For you ATI fans, this months ATI CAT update is out 6.5
It does have quite a few new optimizations that apply to older cards down to the 9500 series and 3d performance boosts.
Results remain to be seen...

At least it only took me ten minutes this time to go through the process....

As always, I shun the CAT Control Cener in favor of Ray Adams ATI Tray Tool which has far more control and optimization as well as the fan control, which I consider an essential.

Worth the time to update!

The monthly ATI CAT updates always contain some minor bug fixes or game specific fixes and optimizations.

Every now and then, you get some major improvement to the core engine and overall performance enhancement.

6.5 is one of those!
I usually don't get too excited about doing a CAT update unless, after installing and rebooting, I see a visual difference enough to go oooooooh, ahhhhh!

6.5 has noticable ooh,ahh!
Color saturation and detail enhancement is immediately noticable as a visual difference, something you can actually see and feel.

As always, it's worth the time to fiddle with the settings for 3d in the Ray Adams ATI Tray Tool. It does take some time to find the best optimal settings for your card, machine, and particular 3d apps and games.

Even at defaults, this CAT is another big improvement!

Enjoy, I am done with video card updates. Now you know my middle name is "update" but not on video cards anymore...I want to be last to download them. Hosed too many damn systems....BTW I only use Omega drivers now, is this out in Omega also?
