Upgrading Windows 2000

I have a machine in here with Win2K, origianl version. Does anyone off-hand if I can simply download SP-4 and install it? Was/Is it a purchased upgrade or free for W2K users?

It's probably a large download so I'll wait till I get to someplace that has a fast connection and burn to CD to do the install.

While looking for an msconf utility for Win2K, I ran across this site:

I thought it was pretty impressive for an 18-year old. He has a few nice looking utilities. I haven't tried any yet, but I will be looking at his Startup Control Panel for the W2K machine I'm working on.

I use Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel on my W2K machine at work as well as my WinXP machine at home and I highly recommend it.

for the record, you can use XP's msconfig utility in W2000- copy the msconfig.exe file from the c:\windows\system folder in XP to the Windows 2000 c:\winnt\system32 folder.
