Anybody know anything about OCZ memory. I've never used it but the price is $199.99 for 2x 1 gb and it has a $50 rebate or $149.99. The below $100 rebate is a mistake.

My friend got OCZ memory, their memory seems high quality.

OCZ is a top level maker and highest quality.
Just beware ... 6400 would be an extreme overclocking memory meant to handle a cranked up FSB.
Unless you are overclocking in a range to match the memory, or matching memory to your overclock, the high performance stuff does not run well at stock speeds or low OC speeds and actually may perform worse than a low latency PC-3200 matched to stock and lower speeds.
Remember, the high speed stuff is meant to run at high speed and not for stock levels.
There is likely a link in the archive posts to a very good article explaining how to match the right memory speeds to your clock speed.

I don't know where it came from but it's premium quality. Is it lifetime like the big three?

The motherboard I am looking at says it will handle DDR2 800. Would I have a problem using the 6400?

If it is on the compatibility list for the mobo...
Timings are 5-5-5-10 so it is in the low latency group.
What CPU, chipset, and FSP are you looking at?
"Optimized for Intel 955 "

I'm looking at the Abit KN9 SLI board that uses Nvidia
but not sure what you mean by FSP?
typo for FSB I'm sure

Right... FSB.
The specs say optimized for Intel 955.
I would look at compatibility listings for both the mobo and cross reference it at OCZ.
The other thing to track, closely, is any forums specific to that mobo. You often find user recomendations or gripes and users often quickly figure out which ram works best with it. Some mobos are very picky about the ram, even high quality stuff. I would be most inclined to search out those forums, any OCZ forums, and Abit forums.
I do follow the Abit forum for my AA8XE and note the users are very quick to disect a particular mobo and list any conflicts or bad points.

Thanks, I also follow the AMD Abit and Asus forums but being as the motherboard is new and I really don't even know if it is being sold yet, I haven't been able to find out much about it. Up until now I've been mostly going with what I want it to do and what I want to put in it. This board seemed to fill the bill for what I wanted
I seemed to be stuck on AMD3000+ machines. Since I built the AMD3200 I've done 3 different variations of AMD3000 and one Opteron. I figured instead Of doing something like Ihave I would go for one big jump and hope I'm satisfied for some time. This would be my one big jump.
When I started thinking of this I thought 4800+ but since they only want $50 more for the 5000+ I figure that will be the CPU. I have two 160 gig Sata Hard drives and PCIe video card with 256 meg ram. Right now I'm looking for the memory. I waited to long and the sale on the OCZ memory is off. I also figured I'd use an Antec case with the Thermaltake 500 watt Power supply I just bought. I have a bunch of different DVDRW's and CD-Rom's to choose from along with the Dell 19" Monitor, I figure I should be satisfied for a while anyway.. we'll see..
