Turned on computer and got a notification that the Windows Firewall was blocking some Kaspersky functions (or something like that) and asked if I wanted to unblock it. Of course, I clicked UNBLOCK.

After I clicked UNBLOCK, I went to Control Panel > Network & Internet Connections > Windows Firewall > Exceptions. Exceptions lists Kaspersky Antivirus Service and is checked.

What would trigger such an alert and the blocking of my AV service by the Windows Firewall?

In addition to Kaspersky's automatic updates, the only other events in the last 5 days were updating Firefox, finding Notepad, and putting Notepad back into Programs.

I'm puzzled. Anything else I should check?

P.S. In additon to the Firefox update and Notepad to Programs, I also did my weekly scan with Kaspersky; defragged; ran DiskCleanup and Spybot - Search & Destroy, and updated SpywareBlaster.

Don't know what's going on with that, but I have something to add. One of my customers just picked up a domain with GoDaddy. He uses Outlook to access his email. Norton's Firewall blocks his attempts to send email, but lets him receive email. Right now he has to turn off this Norton Firewall to send mail. I'll take a look at it next week.
