I am using the Logetch MX700 Duo (Wireless keyboad and wireless mouse)

I have been on the phone with Logetch for the last 45 minutes and they can't find the problem.

This is it: I installed the latest version 2.22 to the system. I go into the iTouch Configuration and program the "Hot Key -Search" on the keyboard.
Set the function to "Web Site"
Set the Name to: "Google"
Set the URL to: "https://www.google.com"
exit the Configuration Utility
rebooted (wasn't necessary to do)
Press the "Search" Key

Result:
The Name: "Google" appears in the bottom-middle of the display BUT "Google" does not come up. I tried other URL's - same results on all.

Just to mention, typing any valid URL in the Internet Addree box does work.

Sam

Set the URL to: https://www.google.com
This url should not have https. I'm not sure if that is your only problem but it does seem to be the problem here. From your description of your problem, there may be a problem with the format of the url that you are entering such as should it be wrapped with double quotes .. or not.

Second thought: In testing my theory, I see that Google will accept https and convert it to http. Many (most) unsecured urls cannot be entered with https:

I would still look at the format of the url entered.

Terry:

That was a "fat finger" mistake. It is : http://www.google.com

What is your default browser?
The keys do not work with Firefox.
It will open FF to your home page but will not open directly to a URL.

Default (and only browser in the system) is IE 6

I agree with Rich. I found some trying to send all the keyboard keys pressed and mouse clicks over the internet to some server. It's unnecessary. I have a 5 button mouse and it works fine w/o the software.
