Thanks.
It's not for everyone, but I'd say moving the Taskbar to the right side
of screen is more for power users who routinely open 4 applications
or more simultaniously.

I just discovered an error in the original article where I had suggested
they install the Taskbar Activate program and set the activation delay
to 5 seconds. I just discovered it only accepts values up to 2000 ms
(2 seconds). I corrected the article accordingly.

Pete, I like the Taskbar to the right side of the screen...... less stress on my hand/arm when I bring in the task bar and use the mouse to check the time, switch to another open site, or respond to the alert that email has arrived.

Yeah, think I see what you mean. The sideways movement seems to
involve less work by the fingers & wrist if your forearm is anchored.
However, proper mousing technique should not involve anchoring
your forearm. You wrist should always be in the neutral position
and you should not be flexing your wrist or fingers to position
the mouse. Instead, your entire arm should be moving.

Thanks for sharing your well written tutorial on the Windows taskbar. I have found some of the things that you mentioned and others (like the taskbar on the right) are new. I may give this one a try when I get a chance although I am pretty well set with my Windows navigation habits.

I think MS screwed up on this one. They should have had an option
to optimize the task bar when positioned on the right to have it auto-hide
and require a hover & click to activate it. I have a feeling they didn't
do that because too many people would have troubles finding the
taskbar after it was configured in such a manner. ---pete---

Pete, I have the task bar on the right and it's auto-hide. All I have to do is move the cursor to the extreme righthand side of the desktop to have it appear and bring the cursor to the left to have it hide again.

I would find it a PITA to have to "hover and click" to activate it. With that setup, would I then have to click to hide it? Maybe MS was on the ball with this one?

Ok, but don't you find that it pops up when you don't want it to
as you attempt to use the vertical scroll bar in various applications?

No click to hide required.

No, Pete. No problem. Everything on the desktop is enlarged (cataracts), and vertical scroll bars aren't "skinny."
