After all the beating up we do of the major electronic stores, I find I have to relate a pleasant experience.

No 2 son sent me a Best Buy gift card for fathers day. It came in a UPS mailer. I opened it and promptly e-mailed a thank you. I left it on the kitchen table for wife to see, (in UPS mailer).
You can guess what happened next. She through it out with the trash. (thought I was finished with it). I won't bore you with the ensuing conversation regarding blame placing.

She looked up customer service 800 number, (even tho I remember that it is clearly printed on the card that it cannot be replaced if lost or stolen).
When she called the customer service agent (spoke without an accent) asked where and how it was purchased. She told him that purchase was probably made in DC and sons name etc. Agent indicated that he hadn't purchased anything from them since 2004. Wife says "this kid has every toy imaginable. Do your records included "on-line" purchases?" Of course they didn't.

So she proceeds to cal #2 son and advise him of the situation, (I wasn't going to tell him about one or both of his parents stupidity).
"Don't worry mom, I'll take care of it".

Eight hours later he called back and said that I would be getting a new gift card but it wouldn't be specially marked as a fathers-day present.

Hooray for Best-Buy. I think I need a new TV.
