I have used Paperport Pro Version 9 for a long time and love it. I don't have any problems with it at all. I realize Version 11 is now released. I can get Version 10 very cheap. However, I recall seeing some very negative posts on it. Is it worth even bothering to get version 10? I can get it for nearly nothing. Thanks.

John. You don't need the activation nightmare and bootup problems that piece of crap gives...don't buy it.
They shut me off after 5 activations and refused to do any more without my buying a license. As it happened, I reformatted 3 times that year and built 2 pc's that went on, and on the last unit I was locked out. I had to go to Atty general's Office here, make a complaint, and then they transferred it to Mass where Scansoft is hearquartered and I finallly was given 3 more...I immediately lt sold it on eBay for $49 to be rid of it.

Thanks, Rich. I will follow your suggestion and skip it. Version 9 works for me. Are there any reviews on the newest version 11? Is Version 11 plagued with the same issues as Version 10?

John,
I have the nightmare version 10 and have managed to muttle my way around the problems that I NEVER had with 7! I wish I had done 9 and stopped there!
As for version 11 - I am going to wait for a while even though they are always sending emails to my trash account about discounts for this, discounts for that, and need to upgrade. Well, if they want to give it to me FREE to test on my bench system, I 'might" consider it. But as of right now I am NOT going to be going to Nuance Software since there is no nuance to do so LOL.

Rich, I still think Paperport Pro Version 9 is a fantastic program. It's the best imagining software for a scanner I've used. What program do you use, Rich?

John,
Ever since I had my problems with paperport, I realized I have Adobe Acrobat anyway, and there is nothing Paperport can do that Acrobat can't do better anyway so I use it for my desktop scanning program.

I'm glad I read these post on Paperport. I am also working with Paperport Deluxe 9. I have been received several emails saying 50% off on Version 11. I was thinking about getting it but I'm going to stay with version 9.
Thanks,
Sam

I have to tell you I am so happy with Adobe Acrobat 7.0 doing the same functions, and I owned it anyway!

I also have Adobe Acrobat Pro Version 7, but still enjoy Paperport Pro Version 9. I like the Gui on Paperport and believe it is more user friendly than Adobe.

Being "user friendly" doesn't bother me I will never be using any Scansoft products again and I'm glad that something else has all the features, without the attitude of Scansoft. And I won't use a product that I woin't be able to go forward with.
