I now have an IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad A21m model 2628-GSU (~800 MHz. Pent III? 192 MB RAM, 14.1" (I think) Windows 98SE, etc.) The only problem is that the battery works for about 10 minutes then I have to charge it again. It didn't come with a charger, so I'm currently using one for another IBM/Lenovo notebook at my house, but it's getting annoying switching it between the two notebooks.
The battery says 02K6618 as the model #, and 10.8V 3.6AH. The charger is a 16 volt, 4.5 amps, 72 watt.
Any suggestions about what I should (or can) do about this? Can I go and find some 16 volt AC adapter, or will I have to look on eBay for the specific model? The same for the battery?

I've had a lot of luck using Ebay for batteries, power adapters, etc. And not only for PC, but other electronics like camcorders, etc. Sometimes it's off brand, but works fine and at considerable less than OEM.

How does this one look? (sorry, it was sold already). It says that it is new, but I'm not sure if it is or not.
I looked in stores and found some universal adapters for anywhere from $60 to well over $100.
I'm not having much luck with batteries (the one with it is a 02K6618, which some "eBay stores" have but they say "1.5+ hours", which isn't the best battery life). I've seen some other batteries that say they are compatible with the T21, but they don't look like they would fit.

Back when that laptop was manufactured Pi, 1.5+ hours battery charge was all it could give. Back then, people bought laptops for business use in the field, not for home use and hours of use. I doubt you'll find one that lasts longer than 1.5+ hours.

Thanks for all the info!
I have an adapter (sorry for not adding that sooner, I forgot) but I don't know if I'll get a battery or not. I probably won't be using it much outside of my room. I mostly use it just to refresh my memory on Windows 98.

You're welcome. And if you decide to get a battery at least now you know it doesn't have to come from Lenovo or IBM and you know the serial numbers in case it's an ebay buy. ;)
Usually, on Lenovo you can find anything you want on old IBM's ThinkPads.
