BTW everyone should definitely download IE7 and Media Player 11...PC World wrote up media Player this month saying best changes ever in such a program and those who use IE would really appreciate IE7 features.I see nothing about either that have obvious unfinished or beta signs.

BTW while I am getting used to Vista, I miss Outlook Express. Windows Mail is more like Outlook and I am not thoroughly happy as it has added to time taken to send and sort emails...the "user and permissions crap" of XP is deeper in Vista and will require some time to understand. I can see why new hard drives are adding flash memory to hard drives to make this big cumbersome OS move faster. I wonder without my 10,000 RPM sata drives what this would be like on slow ide 7200rpm drives....while it may sound hard to understand it's as if response time on Vista is quicker than XP, the actual movement is slower and I note frequent very slight freezes in email program if you try to motor too quickly.
I am having trouble getting printer to remain as default as it frequently is not showing that way, and preventing email printing with it. For some reason if the default printer isn't listed as such, then you cannot switch to it in Windows Mail to print anything, and have to leave and reset as default printer before doing so. This feels like a beta problem frankly.
I have grown used to the contacts or address book being on the left block for ease of selecting someone to email too. WM does not allow that and as a result it takes a few extra steps to iniate an email to anyone individual or group. other than for that it is very similar to OE, unfortunately what's missing was my favorite feature.
There are sound issues as no sound card will work immediately in Vista that I can see, and there are frequent lapses where drivers for sound vanish and need reinstalling, for reasons I cannot see, but I'm not saying this is often happeneing either.
It is so easy to access XP partition, I think ideally new users upgrading to Vista should set up as I did to get used to the changes. It would then be so easy to migrate files and data and then delete XP OS later on when the timing is right.
Surely the other problem will be rectified as XP is supposed to have their own Av and for now only Avast and Pc Cillan work. Avast isn't the greatest either as the update feature for manual does not work. Upon booting in I have yet to see how to get internet to come right up as it requires a start each time and if I don't remember to do that quickly then Avast fails to update and it won't do so manually as I get a message saying this feature is not enabled when I try. If internet is on, then it does auto update but this smacks of a beta mistake that will be fixed I am sure.
The Windows firewall while similar to XP is more advanced and definitely is now working 2-way though I have yet to read this anywhere, as I am queried about other than normal attempts to enter the network.

Damn it I wish spell check worked...this is getting old!!!

Are you using Beta 2 or CTP?

I feel like they are all very Beta yet, but the move to Vista is a bigger leap then MS has taken in many years.

Was using beta 2 as IE got corrupted and I have ended the sortie as solutionless.
