View Full Version : How to deternmine if more RAM is needed

I thought there was a previous post here that described how to determine how much Virtual Memory your machine was using. Point was that if you're using a certain amount of VM, you need to install more RAM. I think it had to do with checking the paging file size periodically.

I went searching for that thread today, but couldn't find it. Anyone remember this?

How to determine if you need more Memory/Ram

1.) Exercise your computer through it's normal paces by opening
the typical programs you operate. Just work it as you normally do.

2.) Open Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL)
Compare the "Physical Memory - Total" to the "Commit charge - Peak".
If the Peak is greater than the Total then you would benefit by adding
more Memory/RAM.
