Pc phone issue

BTW guys, I would like to have a wireless phone so I can talk on the phone and type with both hands at the same time but don't want a headset [too bulky], we tried the Bluetooth system earphone, doesn't work for us as too many connection issues when the regular phone rings. My wife needs a phone to connect to her soundcard so she can talk long distance via skype or messenger, we have Verizion VOIP. Shouldn't there be something [economical] that would work for BOTH purposes? Any recommendations/leads please? Thanks.
