One of my customers is having a problem with his IE and Comcast. When he opens IE, it gets stuck going to his home page, www.comcast.net. If he simply stops and refreshes, it gets there immediately and subsequent surfing is fine. It's not a show stopper, but annoying. I'll probably stop over there next week and try things like changing home page, using Firefox, turning off ZA, and bypassing the router.

He has a nice XP machine accessing Internet via Belkin router and Comcast provided modem.

Anyone else see this behaviour?

Tony,
Is this just on a cold boot? Happens to me all the time on cold boot if I open browser before everything is up and ready and then closing and rehitting does fine. And it seems to happen more with IE than FF or Sea Monkey as well.

Tony,

Check if he download ANY of the Comtragic garbage I had a user download their spamblocker and internet security and everything went whacky with EVERY browser (including FF and IE - I don't have Sea Monkey).

Does Comcast send out a cd for user to "install" software when setting up their comcast internet access? Verizon's installation cd has yahoo and msn browsers that alter IE. Could it be that the user has an altered version of comcast flavored IE?

On customer's machine that I had to bridge modem on yesterday, they had installed the Verizon software and had an altered version of IE that was very flaky.
