Oh, forgot to post this, I am guessing that many of us here were partying in the "Disco" era, if so, here's a great forum for Disco music:

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a music link but I recently discovered a
FREE source of music using the iTunes software. You download the
itunes software at the link below and then run it anytime you want
to listen to music. Click on... Radio and it gives you about 19 categories
of music to listen to (Blues, Jazz, Rock, etc..) Each category has from
10 to 100 radio stations to listen to. It's totaly FREE. Listen for hours.

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Recently I notice that I'm using my AM/FM/Shortwave radio less
and less as I find better sources of music and talk radio streaming
for FREE on the internet. I have the audio output of the computer
feeding into a mini low power FM transmitter tuned to 89.5 MHZ.
Then I use a portable FM receiver tuned to 89.5 MHZ to listen to
the streaming broadcasts, when I'm anywhere in my house, garage,
or outside on my property.

You've raised an interesting topic here Pete, recently I started toying with the idea of getting a subscription from Sirius or somethign similar since I only play music from my pc, there are times when I like to listen to the radio but don't want to listen to the regular local stations because of the commercials, problem is even though Sirius is cheap at $10 per month, there are months when I may not even listen to a radio station not even for a minute so for that reason I was always on the lookout for "free" internet stations which give you a variety of specialized music stations, meaning, a specific station for Rock, one for Disco, one for country e.t.c, basically I guess what i am searching for is the closest thing to Sirius but free, any ideas?

p.s. The reason I'm looking for an alternative to itunes is because itunes simply won't install on ym pc and no one knows why.

Here is a great place to find FREE streaming broadcasts
and it's nicely organized in categories such as Classic Rock, Jazz, Talk, etc..
