I have an Epson 740 Printer and recently replaced both color and black cartridgtes. Something changed. How/where do I control the size of the font for the printed copy?
When I print from the web (i.e., my Pathmark shopping list), the fonts on the printed page are miniscule.
However, the forms I print from My Documents continue to mirror the original.

Lina, you can't control font size in the printer options, that comes from the program/software you use. If this is happening on webpages, you might copy (ctrl +A) the webpage and then paste it into word or similar and change the font there. Changing the size set to a webpage through firefox, probably won't change the size because webpages/sites have already set the size for their pages.

That makes sense, except that before I changed the printer cartridges (and possibly screwed up something), the copy of my Pathmark shopping list printed with normal-sized fonts from the same web site....maybe the web site has been altered?
But I'll try your suggestion. It's similar to what I do with small-print email jokes I receive in Outlook Express. I cut-n-paste them into Email Stripper and then transfer them into new emails where I can read and forward them to my friends, some of whom also have vision problems. Email Stripper also cleans up all the >'s.
Sometimes the fonts in some Yahoo emails are too faint to read, and I forward them to Outlook Express where for some reason the fonts are darker and more legible.
Thanks for the tip. :)

The website had to have been altered or the size on firefox was changed. Believe me, there is no way to control font size through your printer. I know, I used to have the same printer.

In Firefox, you can change the size of the text on the screen (sometimes) by using the 'increase' and 'decrese' commands in the VIEW menu. I don't know if this has any effect on the printed page.
Also - try IE - it may handle the print job better.
Side comment: I had an Epson 740. Nice machine, but died long ago.

Photolady: Ctrl + A to Word Pad adjusted font size produced larger size font, but not exactly what I'm used to.
Tony: Two attempts using the increase command in Firefox's VIEW did not seem to work. Still minuscule font size.
I made some seven copies trying various methods and closing out and reopening the web page. I'm now getting "normal" (for me) printed copies, but I don't know why. .... :noidea:
All was not for naught, however. Thanks to Photolady I now know I can't control font size in the printer options!....
I got up at 5 this morning, couldn't find my glasses (need glow-in-the-dark frames!), and tried your suggestions--no wonder I don't know what worked!
(Excuses, excuses, excuses.)
Thank you both for your input and courtesy. .... :grouphug:

In FF Lina just hold down "Alt" key and rotate scroll wheel the way we always have to change font size.

Rich isn't that the ctrl key? I use ctrl key in IE to do this same thing. If not, may be different in ff.
And Lina, do you not have Word or Office programs? Notepad is so limited.

Photolady, the Ctrl w/mouse scroll works both in IE and FF.
I have Microsoft Office and Word Perfect but have never gotten around to explore them......maybe one of these days. I've always been a slow learner with things like word processing. Had a hell of a time converting from a standard electric typewriter to a Selectric, and then almost a nervous breakdown converting to a computer!
Right now WordPad seems to work nicely for writing an occasional letter and keeping track of my budget. :)
Thanks.
