Welco0me to our forum mayanbilly and I hope we can solve your problem. See if you have this Windows Update installed in Add/Remove programs or the uninstall for it in the Windows Folder (first entries in purple are the uninstallers for Windows Updates)....

Hi, there, mayanbilly .... :welcome: to our forum! ....
Won't you please try to join us tonight (Wednesday) in our Kickenhardware Computer Help Desk chatroom? Maybe we can provide hands-on help with your mouse problem if you have not already resolved it. See below for more details.

Mayanbilly, we encourage and appreciate suggestions and comments about our relatively new board! Please post them in the KH Feedback forum for the immediate attention of our administrator and moderators.

We hope you can also join us in our KH Computer Help Desk Paltalk chatroom each Wednesday night, from 9 pm EST until whenever. Here's how to get there:

Computer Help & Advice
KH Computer Help Desk

* you need to download Paltalk messenger 8.3 software first if you don't already have Paltalk on your system.

In the chatroom you can receive or give one-on-one, hands-on help for computer problems, alert us or learn about new developments in computers and software. Computer subjects get first priority. If there is a lull, then humor, finance, and whatever can be discussed intermittently. We try not to talk about politics or religion .... there's enough disagreement about antivirus scanners. LOL

For more information about the KH Computer Help Desk Paltalk Chatroom, see: http://www.kickenhardware.net/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&day=2006-6-14&e=1&c=1

Again, welcome, mayanbilly .... :clap2:

Billy,

Does the computer freeze up that you have to reboot or just fails to respond for a while?

How is the mouse connected? PS2 port or USB
Try changing from one to the other.
Check the plug... remove and reseat

Corded or wireless mouse?
Worn or broken cord?
Try different mouse.

I have one machine with a very annoying PS2 plug on the mobo and if the mouse isn't plugged in just right... causes all kinds of hangs. Works on USB.

If using USB, all types of USB conflicts could be the cause.

Does right-click work any where else? If not, change out the mouse.

Hello Dan18960 and Dbarrow,The mouse cause`s the PC to freeze period,it is a p/s 2 mouse and it is a brand new one out of the wrapper,I was using a trackball mouse that I have used for a long time with no trouble whatsoever, yes I do have to reboot everytime,so I find it quicker to log off administrator then log on again,it is connected by p/s 2 port, there are no conflicts showing in Device manager at all..hope this info helps...mayanbilly

sounds like the mouse is faulty. return/exchange it. if its a "generic", opt for a name brand such as Logitech or Kensington.
