Dear Computer Lady,
Often when I go to fill in a form, I will start my name or address and the computer will give me a drop down list of things that I have used before. Sometimes it includes misspellings from the past. I would like to delete them from the list. Is there any way to do this?
I love your column and am continually finding helpful information there.
Debbie
Dear Debbie,
There is a way to get rid of individual items in the auto fill lists. I am going to walk you through an example using the Google search page.
1. Go to the Google home page at www.google.com
2. Type a letter in the search box and if you have searched for things that start with that letter in the past, a drop down list will appear.
3. Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, press the down or up key until the entry on the list you want to remove is highlighted blue.
4. Once the item you want to remove is highlighted blue, press the delete key on your keyboard to remove the item.
