Well I had to see this to believe it. Many of you probably remember the big eBay buy for $650 that catapulted me to 4800 dual core Athlon a while back and in the "grab bag" was an Ati 1300 256 meg video card. I have read many negative reviews on this card over the last few months but I have decided that is like the Intel Amd wars and have ignored them.
For several months I have been critical of drag on this system, especially on the internet and really could not explain it. I keep startup "lean and mean" don't play games and really have top notch components usually. My Biostar system with 4200 really is quicker and I assumed it is because this one accesses the internet wirelessly while that direct connects however that does not explain other non internet drag I have been feeling lately. I did change to a USR usb adapter to access internet to match Usr router at 125 mbps and noted a slight improvement from 54 Dlink adapter.
Well I decided last week when I saw a good buy on an Nvidia 6600 pci-X 256 meg card like I have in the other unit
to grab it and just installed it today to completely solve the problem...this has me dazzled!!!! If you ask me now, I would have to say that Nvidia has recatured it's lead from ATi again. Of cousre there are mfgr's that are different that can also contribute to the difference but for a "night and day" difference, I just saw one!
