Casey, isn't there a way to post the link with all that crap? As soon as I saw that nonsense I didn't really pay attention to your subject.

You could edit the post and remove that junk. It takes away from the main subject of your post.

I understand that if someone has already replied to your post, you cannot delete or edit it -- unless you are a moderator. Of course, you can ask a mod to do it for you, but too many valid or frivolous requests could unnecessarily burden them..

It is my understanding that you can edit a post that has a reply but not delete it. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to test that right now.

I believe that I speak for the other mods when I say that we are available to correct postings which the poster feels are misplaced, do not represent his/her intent or are inappropriate in context

Sorry, Terry. I stand corrected. Could have sworn I could not edit one of my posts that had a reply! I checked and now do see Edit buttons after my posts.

These senior moments are getting too frequent. I'm over my cold and need to get out and get some exercise. Hope I did not lead anyone astray.

Sorry yes deleting an entire post and editing it are 2 different things... but you could remove a post and just put post deleted by me i suppose.. and then smile sweetly and ask a mod to wipe it from the planet

Well getting back from the diversion, Larry never buy a Celeron or Amd second cpu for that matter either...The second chips are fine for normal projects in a desktop, but when you put one in a laptop, you can almost lose multi tasking because the small cache is so much more important in a laptop.
As for the Gateway, the company is sick and broke, primarily making TV's these days. The only person I have ever heard rave about Gateway laptops who has had several of them is RBL. I am not giving you an oppinion on that one one way or the other, it looks good to me but I have no knowledge of it personally.

Rich, how could you tell they were seconds or is there another meaning to what you are saying?

Larry,
I guess I didn't say that clearly...Celeron is second to P4 and Sempron is second to Athlon and so what I meant is the less expensive cpu's with lower cache should be avoided in a laptop.

Larry,
imho the Gateway is the better of the two based on the specs. keep in mind that it has 512mb system memory and integrated video chipset which "shares" 32-128mb of system memory.

Geez Rob I know that, I was making a general statement that it appears no one understood, that the cheapo cpu's have little cache and should not be used in a notebook...
