When my cousin took over my laptop 2 years ago, I encouraged her to get an external drive to backup what's on the laptop and at that time I was told that "PC Mover" from Laplink was the best software to create an exact image of the laptop so she bought both the external drive and the Pc Mover software and I tested it out at that time on my desktop and it worked, for the most part, the only thing I had to do was to re-license my music softwares.

Now with the laptop back from HP I tried to move the image of the external drive back to the laptop where it originally came from and it did not work so I called up laplink and they said I have to purchase another license becuase it can only be used once so she did so and it still did not work even though I had step by step help with their chat support. When the support agent could not get it to work and didn't know why, she said that PC Mover is not designed to create images of OS and is only a means to "transfer files to another pc" and that "they couldn't have told me that 2 years ago" so I asked her why then would I have purchased an external drive?

I got upset and ended the session then called Laplink to ask for phone support and they said I have to pay for this, I couldn't ask my cousin to spend more money now for this not to work in the end so I really feel bad that she had spent all this money for nought. I thought Dell was the only company in the pc Industry with unscrupulous policies but I was wrong.
