For prompt, accurate, responces to your questions, please provide as much of the following info as possible:
*Computer- brand, model #; CPU- brand, speed; Memory- amount.
*Operating System- XP Home/Pro, 2000, ME/9x, other.
*Browser- IE, Firefox, other, version #, security settings.
*Date of last "Windows Update", Service Packs installed.
*Video Card- brand, model #, type, date of driver, screen resolution
*Audio Card- brand, model #, type, date of driver.
*Internet connection- cable, dsl, other; Network Card- Brand, model #,
*Router- brand, model #, # pc's on network.
*Peripherals (printer, scanner, zip drive, etc)- brand, model #'s.
*Did you change/install hardware and/or software before problem started?
*Any power disruption, incomplete shutdowns, or failed Scandisk/Chkdsk or Defrag attempts?
*Use of any "tune-up" utilities, and/or any software running in background such as,
Antivirus, System diagnostics, Firewall, Popup blocker, Backup software,
Registry cleaner, etc,- brand, version #, date last updated.
*Any recent downloads such as, music sharing software or freeware?
*Any new programs/files recently appear in STARTUP menu or MSCONFIG STARTUP listing?
*Was everything else working before this problem?
*Frequency of the problem and any program(s) that make it happen.
